I am living with an Achondroplastic Dwarf named "Oscar". Oscar is a Dachshund and he carries the same gene that causes dwarfism in both canine and humans. How about that!! Beagles, Corgis, Bassetts, and many other short legged dogs have this gene. This bit of fascinating information comes from my husband's hand surgeon. This ends my theory that God made Dachshunds last.... from leftover parts.
